'Slim Jim' 33206 leads 33049 into Exeter St Davids with the 0920 SO Brighton to Paignton service. During the summer months the train loaded to 11 coaches ( Oxted 8 set plus 3 loose coaches ) hence the need to doublehead the train. This service lasted until 2007, although by then formed of class 159 DMU's until it was killed off by the DfT. Thanks! Slide dated 11/9/82. Photographer unknown.
