Chaloners Whin Junction on the outskirts of York and 31119 comes off the ECML with a down freight train. This junction disappeared with the construction of the Selby diversion in the 1980's the site is now marked by a giant Tesco store. Image dated 20/4/76. Photographer Barrie Watkins.
