4VEP 7724 vehicle S70893 seen at Haywards Heath with major damage after a head-on collision at Copyhold Junction near Haywards Heath on the 6th November 1985. The collision between the 0100 Victoria to Brighton ( 4CIG 7390 )and the 0135 Brighton to Victoria was caused by the former train sliding past protecting signals due to poor railhead conditions.
