270275 Doleham W190903

Doleham between Hastings and Rye and a line of 16 ton mineral wagons have derailed. Looks like they are on a block stone train working as they have a circuit number painted above the TOPS panel. A class 33 has charge of the Ashford breakdown crane.

This was a Mountfield Sidings to Tonbridge West Yard Gypsum working (eventually bound for Crabtree Siding), it was diverted via the Marshes as Mountfield Tunnel was shut at the time (relining, single lining on slab track) Tonbridge crew, driver Malcolm Damper, Secondman the late and sorely missed Neil Scott (later a driver at Tonbridge)
