33041 NXG 110975 W284407

33041 was the first TOPS numbered class 33 to be withdrawn. The reason being this collision just north of New Cross Gate station at Bricklayers Arms Junction.
33041 was working an ECS from London Bridge when it was hit head on by an EMU. The class 33 had passed a signal at danger that appeared illuminated due to strong sunlight reflected off the loco roof
